….And welcome to my shiny new blog!
A quick intro to who I am… my name is Sarah, I am in my thirties, and I was born and raised in the UK, currently living near London. In this blog I hope to record my travels, beginning by looking back on years gone by, with a view to recording my ongoing adventures as and when these happen. I often travel solo, occasionally travelling with others, and I am really grateful for the opportunity to be able to do this. The varied and inspiring experiences that travel has given to me through my life will stay with me forever, and I hope that through this blog I may be able to inspire others to travel too!
I have been interested in travel from a young age. My first trip abroad was to Disneyland Paris (aww!) when I was 6 – unfortunately I can’t remember much of this, as I am sure you will understand! My parents had friends in Germany, which led to several trips there and seeing the sights of large portions of the southern and western regions of the country. I even learnt a bit of German, which sparked my interest for languages, later moving on to learn some Norwegian and various useless words and phrases from different languages!
My first solo trip was to Norway when I was 16 – it was daunting, but so worth it! I have since visited different parts of Norway multiple times, alongside many other fascinating and often culturally rich European destinations. When the time is right (aka when I am feeling brave enough to go it alone!) my travels may take me further afield… I would love to visit the US and Canada for starters, and will remain open minded to the prospect of anywhere else in the world, as to date my travels have taken place solely in the “western” world!

A list of the countries that I have visited (in no particular order):
- Norway
- Germany
- France
- Iceland
- Spain
- Slovenia
- Austria (for a day – road trip from southern Germany!)
- Croatia
- Italy
- Canary Islands (Tenerife & Gran Canaria)
- Mallorca
- Greece (Corfu)
- The Netherlands
- Scotland (well, still part of the UK, but I felt it deserved a mention here!)
A list of the countries that I would LOVE to visit (again, in no particular order!):
- Prague
- Switzerland
- All different parts of the US
- All different parts of Canada too
- Sweden
- Republic of Ireland
- Poland
- Romania
- Denmark
- Finland
- Portugal
- Belgium
- Hungary
- The Baltic states
- Many of the same countries as per the above list, but again!
- Okay, basically most of Europe…
So in essence, I would like to visit a lot of different countries in my relatively limited time on this planet! Recommendations are more than welcome – I am by no means a travel expert!
