This is too cute not to share… about a week ago a friendly robin took a liking to my dad, following him around the garden wherever he went and chirping its sweet tunes. Not long after, my dad had this bird feeding out of his outstretched hand, meeting it at the garden door throughout the day. Well, lo and behold, this sweet little thing has started to feed from my hands too! It’s honestly the loveliest experience and really lightens my soul, come rain or shine. When I have fed my little friend, I truly feel happy for the rest of the day!

Robin’s favourite food at the moment is a suet and insect mix pellet. We believe it has a nest somewhere, since it takes multiple pellets per feed and flies back into a bush at the end of the garden. I hope the babies are doing good! We have also seen its partner, who is a tad more anxious to approach us, but will happily watch from afar. Perhaps it will observe this behaviour and learn that we are a harmless source of free gourmet bird food! We could have multiple birds lining up for a hand feed – that would be my heaven I think! Either way, I am glad to have captured one of these moments through these photos, and hope that you enjoy these too!

What do you reckon I should name it? If you have any stories yourself of close encounters with wildlife such as this, I would love to hear all about it!
